Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026. This policy covers the Edgie platform, including Edgie Centre and the Edgie-Dex directory.

Already have an account? Log in. New to Edgie? Create a profile.

Edgie is a service of Tecoda Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). It helps NDIS participants and support workers keep their own records, arrange shifts, and choose who they work with. Your privacy matters to you and to us. We protect the information you share with us, and we follow the Australian Privacy Principles. Where the GDPR applies to you, the rights in this policy apply as well.

We will not sell your name, address, phone number, email address, NDIS number, or any other personal information. We will not give that information to anyone except as this policy describes.

What we collect and why

We ask when we need information that identifies you or lets us contact you. If you choose not to provide it, you can still read public pages such as this policy, but you will not be able to create an account or use the parts of Edgie that depend on that information.

Account and sign-in

  • First name, last name, and display name — to create your account and to show the name you choose in Edgie.
  • Email address — to sign you in, activate the account, reply when you contact us, and send inbox alerts you opt in to.
  • Password — so only you can open the account. We store it as a one-way hash. We never store the password you type in a form we can read back.
  • Account type (participant or support worker) — so we show the right tools and checks.
  • Who manages a participant login (you, a parent or guardian, a nominee, a support coordinator, or someone else) and the participant’s legal name — so support workers can see whose plan the account belongs to, and who is operating the login.

Contact

  • Phone number, preferred contact method, and emergency contact — so people you connect with, and Edgie if needed, can reach you or someone you nominate.
  • Messages you send through Platform Help — so we can respond to that enquiry. We use the email already on your account to reply.

NDIS identity, plan, and billing

  • NDIS number or worker screening number — to confirm you are eligible before a profile can be listed. Stored encrypted.
  • NDIS registration number and ABN — for support-worker checks and invoices. Stored encrypted.
  • Funding type, plan start and finish dates, plan upload, and plan-manager or agency details — so shifts and invoices match the right plan and the right payer.
  • Edgie does not ask you to store credit card or bank account numbers in your profile.

Verification documents

For support workers we collect compliance documents and their expiry dates, including worker screening, Working with Children Check, police check, first aid, CPR, NDIS worker orientation, public indemnity and liability, visa (if you have one), driver licence, and car insurance. We use these so a worker can be checked before they are listed in Edgie-Dex. Participants are not asked for this set of worker documents.

Support, preferences, and your directory listing

  • Support needs, how best to support you, goals, and services — so participants and workers can see whether they are a suitable match.
  • Languages, interests, cultural background, religion, LGBTI identity, gender, date of birth, and preferences — so you can describe yourself and filter for a match. You choose which of these are Public.
  • Profile photo, short description, social links, experience, availability, and service area — so your listing is useful to the people you want to reach.
  • Residential, support, and postal addresses — to schedule support, estimate travel, and apply NDIS location pricing. When you search for an address, that search is sent to Google Maps.

A field appears in Edgie-Dex only when it is marked Public. Connected people can see information you share with them through your profile, shifts, documents, and contacts. Other members cannot.

Health and support notes

If you add medications or other health and support notes, we store them so the people you share support with can support you safely. We do not use this information to advertise, and we do not sell it. You do not have to complete optional health fields to keep an account.

Records you create in Edgie

Shifts, shift notes, incident reports, invoices, documents, contacts, connection requests, and inbox messages are stored so you and the people you choose can organise support. We use them to provide those features, not for unrelated marketing.

Technical data

  • Log data — such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the time of the visit. We use this to keep the service secure and to fix faults.
  • Cookies — a session cookie to keep you signed in, a security cookie to prevent forged form submissions, and, if you tick “remember me”, a cookie so you stay signed in on that device. We do not use advertising cookies. If you block cookies, sign-in will not work.
  • Push notification token — only if you turn on push for a device. We use it to deliver inbox alerts to that device. Desktop, browser, and the installed app each have their own token.
  • Text-size preference — so Edgie can show the size you chose.

How we use your information

We use personal information for these purposes:

  1. To run Edgie: create and protect your account, show the right screens, and avoid asking you to enter the same information twice.
  2. To help you reach us, and to help the participants and support workers you connect with reach you.
  3. To verify NDIS and worker details before someone is listed.
  4. To schedule support, store documents, and prepare shift and invoice records.
  5. To tell you about service messages you have asked for, such as inbox email or push alerts. We do not send those until you opt in.

Who we share it with

Your personal information is not shared outside Edgie without a reason set out here.

  • People you connect with see the profile fields, documents, contacts, and shifts you share with them.
  • Edgie-Dex visitors see only fields you have marked Public, and only while your listing is visible.
  • Edgie staff can access account and verification records to approve profiles, answer support requests, and keep the service secure. Access is limited to that work.
  • Service providers who host the platform, deliver email, or provide address lookup (Google Maps) process information only so they can perform that task. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We may disclose personal information without asking you first only when we believe in good faith that it is required to: comply with the law or a legal process; protect the rights or property of Tecoda Pty Ltd and Edgie; or act urgently to protect the safety of a user or the public.

Information may be stored and processed in Australia, where Tecoda Pty Ltd and its service providers are located.

Security

We use measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Pages are served over HTTPS, so information is encrypted while it travels between your browser and Edgie. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash. NDIS numbers and ABNs are encrypted in the database. Inside the company, access to systems is limited to people who need it for their work.

You have a role in this too. No one should see or edit your account without your username and password. Do not share those with anyone you do not intend to operate the account.

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Where the GDPR requires it, we will also notify the relevant European authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of a notifiable breach.

Your choices and rights

  • Be informed. This policy, and the short explanation on sign-up, your profile, and Platform Help, describe what we collect and why.
  • Access and correct. You can review and update your information on your profile. Email admin@edgeserviceproviders.com.au if you cannot reach something you believe we hold.
  • Control your listing. Mark fields Public only when you want them in Edgie-Dex. Support workers can request removal from the directory in Settings. The listing is hidden while that request is processed. Account data stays until a full deletion is completed.
  • Delete. Email admin@edgeserviceproviders.com.au and ask us to delete your account and the personal information related to it. Put “Privacy Policy” in the subject line.
  • Restrict or object. Contact us if you want us to stop a particular use. We will respond without undue delay and within one week.
  • Export. Contact us if you want a copy of your data. We will respond without undue delay and within one week.
  • Automated decisions. We do not run profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similar significant effects about you. Matching tools only filter information you and other members have chosen to show.
  • Notifications. Email and push are off until you opt in under Settings. You can turn them off there at any time.

Children and people who act for a participant

Edgie is used by NDIS participants, who may be under 18, and by the adults who support them. A participant account may be created and managed by the participant, or by a parent, guardian, nominee, or support coordinator. We do not ask a child to open their own login without an adult who is responsible for that account. If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent or guardian, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Edgie can contain links to other websites, including maps and sites you add to your profile. Those sites are not operated by us. Read their privacy policies before you use them. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

If you think we have not followed this policy

Email admin@edgeserviceproviders.com.au with “Privacy Policy” in the subject line. We will look into the problem and correct it promptly. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Continued use of Edgie after that date means the updated policy applies to information you give us from then on.
